Earlier this year Edge proudly sponsored one of the teams competing in the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge. ’2boys in a boat’ set a World Record and became the youngest pair to row the Atlantic.
Monday 27th January 2014 Luke and Jamie crossed the finish line as overall fifth in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge and second in the pairs. The boys are now the youngest pair to row the Atlantic, as well as Breast Cancer Care’s biggest ever individual fundraisers raising £314,861.

It took them 54 days of non-stop rowing, they battled huge life-threatening waves, 30 knot winds, excruciating salt-sores and no more than 80 minutes sleep at a stretch. They rowed 3000 nautical miles and lost over 12kg each in spite of eating 6000 calories a day.
If you tune in to Sky Sports Channel 2 tomorrow (Tues 10th June) at 1900 or 2300 you will be able to watch an hour long documentary about the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.
Although the boys do not feature very much as their row was pretty ‘unexciting’ (!) compared to some of the other teams, the film gives a fascinating overview of the whole event and some really good insights into the different challenges faced by the various teams.
